FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do we get all of the pictures you take?

Yes, absolutely! We believe that as the customer you have the right to all of your images. You will be presented with a DVD / USB Stick of high resolution JPEG images as part of your package.

How long will you stay for on the day?

I can be available for the whole day depending on your requirements. At a standard wedding (no such thing really) we would generally start by photographing the bride, preparing for her day, through until the beginning of the wedding breakfast. However, it is becoming increasingly common for couples to request us to stay until the first dance or even until the very end!

Is travel included?

Yes. Travel is included within Cambridgeshire. However, outside of this county we charge a standard travel fee. If required to stay late we would also charge an overnight fee which is designed to cover two days accommodation.

How many pictures will we get?

I am far more concerned with quality than quantity and the number of images will often depend upon the size of the wedding, the venue and how long we stay for. Generally speaking I produce between 200 and 300 images which are all included on your DVD. You then decide upon the images that you would like in your album / photo book.

How would you describe your style?

We like to think that our style is flexible to suit your requirements and generally we adapt our style to any given situations that may arise. This way your images reflect a number of approaches ranging from reportage to more formal / posed shots. We believe that a wedding should reflect a balance of styles.

How do you approach formal group shots?

We like to make sure that formal group shots are taken with the minimum of fuss in order to avoid people waiting around and getting fed up. Organisation is a key word in this respect. We will require a list of all your formal requirements in advance of the day. We then liaise with the best man / ushers to get people ready for their particular group shot. This is where there is an advantage of having two photographers! My wife is very good at collecting people together and getting them ready whilst I set up the shot!

When will the photographs be ready to view?

Usually within 3 - 4 weeks of your wedding day. This will include an online gallery of all the images with password protection.

How long do albums / photo books take to be ready?

Our albums / photo books are individually designed and once ready you are able to approve the final proof or request any further changes.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

This is one advantage of using a two photographer approach as it would be extremely rare for us both not to be able to attend the wedding! I have never missed a wedding and it would take a lot for me not to be there. However, unexpected events do happen in which case I have several reciprocal relationships with other photographers and would endeavour to secure a replacement or you would get all your money back.

Can we have our pictures in colour or black and white?

This is not a problem. I will make the initial selection which will include a mix of black and white, sepia, cream and colour. However, if you'd prefer an image one way or the other we can quickly change it. All images are initially taken in colour and altered in post-production.

What type of equipment do you use?

I have always used Nikon professional digital cameras and probably always will. On the day we will use 3 cameras between us with a range of lenses to help us capture your day! All our cameras take dual memory cards so that your images are backed up as they are taken.

If we ever lost our images would we be able to get replacements?

Absolutely! I back up all images twice and store them for life. In the unfortunate event of you losing your own pictures you just need to get in touch and we would provide you with replacements free of charge.

How do we book?

Generally it’s a good idea for us to meet to talk through your ideas and aspirations for the photography for your day. At this meeting I can show you images from several complete weddings, albums and wall art and answer any questions you may have. At this stage I will put together an individual quote for you and itemise all that will be included in your package. To go ahead and finalise the booking I require a signed contract and a booking fee with the remainder of the balance payable one month before the wedding. The booking form is now available to download below.
